My husband, Chris, and I just returned from Jamaica, where we celebrated our 31st anniversary.
We don’t usually celebrate so elaborately, but this was a significant mile marker in our marriage. It was time to unplug and have fun together.
We sailed, kayaked, snorkeled, climbed a waterfall, rode horses in the turquoise water, drove four-wheelers, and jumped off a cliff! Oh, and we rested too. Ha!
While I enjoyed being away from home, I am most aware of the great privilege it was to enter back into the U.S.A.
We can celebrate Independence Day today because of those that have, and still do, sacrifice their lives for our freedom.
I am also aware of the great privilege we have in Christ. He sacrificed His life so that we may have freedom in Him.
“God sent Him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law so that He could adopt us as His very own children.” (Galatians 4:5, NLT)
I pray today you too are celebrating freedom in Christ. If you don’t know Him, please contact me so I can tell you all about my Savior and the great privilege I have in Him so that you may too.
