There is a saying, “Events happen in 3’s”.  Well if there is any truth in that, then stick a fork in me, because I am done! Ha!

My family recently embraced three life events within three days:

First, our youngest moved out on his own, and we became “empty nesters.”

Second, we had our last Sunday service with our church family of nearly eleven years.

Third, our oldest son deployed overseas for nine months.

I can honestly tell you that one of my primary goals has been to get on the other side of HARD.  It’s been a complicated process leading up to these events, but being released of the anticipation of them helps me breathe a little deeper.

How about you? What life events are you anticipating taking place soon?

Is your child graduating high school or college, preparing to move onto the next phase of life?

Are you preparing to take care of your aging parents?

Is there a critical conversation you are preparing to have with someone?

God desires to help you through whatever you are anticipating.

“For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.” (2 Chronicles 16:9a)

Does He have all your heart? Do you love and trust Him more than anything else? When we give God all of ourselves, He becomes a “strong support” to those who know Him.

As I was studying His word, He led me to Isaiah 40.

I wanted to show you a picture of my bible, so you could see the note I made for myself quite a while back. In God’s divine timing He led me to open His word so I would recall that He loves my children and they will never be out of His sight. Consider with me that if He is aware of every star and knows their names how much more He must know our children’s names and where they are.

He is their God too!

Now take a moment to read the underlined verses 28-31.

Do you not know? Have you not heard?

He will be your strength as He helps you get to the other side of HARD.

You may be weary right now, but God is your support.

You may be impatient right now, but God says to wait for Him to move.

You may be fearful right now, but God is your peace.

God’s got you! God’s got this! You will be okay!

Whatever life event you are facing right now or in the future, draw near to God and He will draw near to you (James 4:8a). Though we all will continue to face one hard thing after another, we can have hope knowing that just on the other side of HARD, we can breathe a little deeper because God is our help. We can trust Him in all things.
